Common questions, answered.
Is Potowomut Golf Club private?
Yes — Potowomut is a private golf club in Warwick, Rhode Island. Membership is by application, with support from two current member sponsors.
What does membership include?
Unlimited golf seven days a week with no tee-time restrictions, full practice facilities — three grass ranges, a short-game complex, and putting greens — member tournaments and social events, dining privileges at the 19th hole and patio, and pro shop discounts.
Where is Potowomut Golf Club located?
On the Potowomut peninsula at 439 Ives Road — technically Warwick, directly bordering East Greenwich, about twenty minutes from downtown Providence. Most members find we're closer than they expected.
Is there a waitlist?
It depends on the category and the time of year. Some membership tiers have immediate availability; others maintain a waiting list. The membership team will give you a straight answer when you reach out.
Do I need member sponsors?
Yes — the formal application asks for support from two current member sponsors who can speak to your character and your respect for the game. Don't have sponsors? Tour the club, play a round, meet members. The path is well-worn and welcoming.
What's the initiation fee?
Initiation and annual dues are discussed during your conversation with the membership director. Pricing varies by category and by year — we'd rather walk you through it personally than post a number that doesn't fit your situation.
Can I bring guests?
Yes. Members may bring guests for golf and dining within reasonable frequency limits, with applicable guest fees. It's part of how the community grows.
Can I see the club before applying?
Yes, and we'd encourage it. Request information and our membership team will arrange a tour of the course, practice facilities, and clubhouse — and a round as our guest.
