A classic walking course where serious players find a match, sharpen their game, and become part of a genuine community. This is where tradition meets every day.
Our classic 1927 layout sits on rolling terrain near Narragansett Bay. At 18 holes, par 71, and 6,380 yards, the yardage might seem modest — but Potowomut plays longer and tougher than the card suggests.
Each one tests a different club and shape.
Precision putting is rewarded. Lag putts are an art.
Off the tee and into the greens — every shot matters.
The course flows naturally with the land.
Each hole offers choices for every level of player.
A test that holds up across decades and a thousand rounds.
Our facilities give you everything you need to work on every part of your game.
Always hitting off quality turf. Plus a dedicated short-range area for wedge work and distance control — the shots that decide your scorecard.
A full short-game area to perfect your touch around the greens. Where scoring happens — and where rounds are saved.
Every hole has a story. Here are ours.
Par 4 Challenging starting hole. A tee shot avoiding the fairway bunker sets up a mid-iron or hybrid approach. Wide open in front, the green is bunkered left and right.
Par 4 Dogleg left. A well-placed shot finding the right side of the fairway opens a clear approach over the water hazard to the largest green on the course.
Par 3 Shortest par-3 on the course features a small, severely sloped green surrounded by bunkers. Staying below the pin is critical. Par is an excellent score.
Par 4 Strong birdie opportunity if you negotiate the trees off the tee. Avoid the bunker guarding the right side of the green on approach.
Par 4 Accuracy off the tee is essential on this long par-4. The green is open in front but guarded by bunkers left and right.
Par 3 Out of bounds looms left while a large bunker protects the narrow green on the right. Par is well earned here.
Par 4 Slight dogleg left favoring the right center of the fairway. Driver may be too much club on this strategic short par-4.
Par 4 Long par-4 requiring a straight drive and a thoughtful approach into a large, sloped green.
Par 5 Short, uphill par-5 that tempts players to reach in two. The narrow green opening and deep bunker demand precision.
Par 5 Downhill par-5 to open the back nine. Drives favor the right, with bunkers heavily influencing the layup and approach.
Par 4 Out of bounds guards the left while trees and bunkers protect the right. A demanding approach to a two-tiered green.
Par 3 Longest par-3 on the course. Tee shots must favor the left to avoid hidden water and out of bounds.
Par 4 Short par-4 requiring restraint off the tee and a blind second shot into a very small green.
Par 4 Slight dogleg left offering the best view on the course. Positioning in the fairway sets up the approach.
Par 5 Right-center drive provides the best angle. The green slopes sharply and is guarded by bunkers.
Par 3 Deceptive par-3 with bunkers, slopes, and a two-tiered green demanding precise club selection.
Par 4 A committed tee shot is rewarded. Water and bunkers guard the right; trees line the left.
Par 4 Finishing hole requires precision off the tee and a confident approach to an elevated green over water.
